Playing Around in Photoshop

I love Photoshop, but I haven't used it for awhile. Now I'm using Photoshop Elements, which is a lot cheaper and does pretty much everything I want it to do.

Of all the things PS and PSE offer, my favorite is filters, which can transform any photo into something quite different. For example, here is a picture of colorful candy.

This is what happens when you apply the Posterize filter:

And when you use the Mosaic filter:

Let's see what Glowing Edges does:

How about Colored Pencil?

Ocean Ripple is one of my favorites:

Stained Glass is a pretty effect:

Now let's do something a little different. All of the transformations above still contain some hint of the original. Let's see if that's the case when we use Chrome.

Very different, isn't it? Can you see how easily these photos can be used as frames or scrapbooking paper?

Photo-editing programs are often used as work horses, but they are great toys, too. Filters are just on of the many things to play with. Grab a photo and have some fun!

I love playing Photoshop I have PSE 8 and PSE 9 on my iMac. I favor PSE 8 however.
