Friendly Flutterbies

Black and white and red all over

I took these photos in the Butterfly Garden at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix last spring. I love the contrast of the black and white butterfly against the red blossoms. Not being botanically inclined, I don't know the name of either. Feel free to enlighten me if you recognize them!

Hot pink is a hot attraction for some butterflies
There seem to be as many varieties of flowers as butterflies in the enclosed garden. It's a lovely place to visit in the springtime and children are fascinated. It's a great place to take out-of-town visitors. As you can see from the photo below, the butterflies are not a bit shy!

Just stopping by to say hello

Good morning Marianne, I'm glad you joined Outdoor Weds. Your photos of the flowers and butterflies are beautiful. Love the butterfly on the glasses. Is that you? How fun.

Have a happy day.
